About Us

Here’s a little more info about Groomability Pet Services, the family behind the business, and the services we provide

We’re the Lloyd family, and ‘Groomability Pet Services’ is operated from our home here in Barton, Cambridgeshire. What began as the ‘Groomability’ mobile dog grooming service has been expanded to now encompass Dog Boarding at our home, plus Pet Transport and Pet Sitting & Home Security services at homes throughout Cambridge and the surrounding area.

Belinda

Our mobile grooming service and our specially equipped van is operated by Belinda. She is an animal lover, dog enthusiast and official City & Guilds qualified dog groomer. Belinda has a deep understanding and real passion for both dogs and dog grooming, which helps her to get to know your dog, build trust and deliver a premium quality grooming session.
Belinda studied at The College of West Anglia, where she gained City & Guilds qualifications in Animal Care and Dog Grooming. This training and experience has made her prolific in grooming techniques on every breed of dog. With a quick coat assessment, she can identify just the right shampoo, conditioner and technique which will provide the absolute best results for your dog.

Martin, Belinda’s dad, and our own dogs

Martin provides the Pet Transport, Pet Sitting/Home Security service, plus general administrative and secretarial assistance. You will usually hear him on the end of the phone or driving the Groomability computer. He will be more than happy to chat to you about all our services, and book you in for an appointment. Martin served for over 26 years in the Cambridgeshire Constabulary, both in the Traffic department and for the last 9 years on the dog section. His love of both driving and dogs has now blended into the services we offer.

We have had many dogs of our own, but most recently we’ve had a number of German Shepherd police dogs. The last dog we owned, Gunner, was Martins first operational police dog. We kept Gunner as our pet when he retired from active police service, until his death in August 2012.

Until retirement Martin worked Troy, who had to be handed back to the police when Martin left. Being in his prime at 4 years old, Troy was re-handled by another officer and is performing true to his training and helping keep the peace and bring criminals to justice.

What we do for the Arthritis Care Charity

Since the age of 2, Belinda has suffered from arthritis. As a family, we highly value the work carried out by the national Arthritis Care Charity, we make an annual donation to the charity and encourage others to do so as well.

It’s our way of saying thank you for the help the charity has given to Belinda and the millions of other people who suffer from arthritis throughout the UK.

Canine first aid, liability insurance, and licenses

For your complete piece of mind, both Belinda and Martin have completed a canine first aid course. We also hold public and product liability insurance to the value of £2.5million. We have been licensed by South Cambridgeshire District Council for our Dog Boarding, and by DEFRA for our pet courier transport service.
